There are cool places, and there are HEAVENLY places. The Grand in Granger Bay is one of the latter – giving you a little slice of heaven on a man-made beach, with beautiful views of the sea, plenty of kelp, seals, boats and sunshine, and brilliant service to boot.
My lovely friend DT took me to The Grand on Sunday for some much needed zen boosting, and what a brilliant choice it ended up to be! From the moment my feet hit the sand, and we got settled at our table to order a bottle of bubbly, I instantly felt myself relax – and after our second bottle, pizza and later, delicious ice cream, I had a nice sunburn going, and my zen levels were at their max. Our waiter, Victor from Zambia, was awesome (if a little busy – with so many tables, it can get hectic for them to keep up!) and the company was fabulous as usual. All in all, I don’t think there is a better way one could spend a sunny Sunday!
Here are some of the highlights of The Grand in photos…

divine bubbly, yummy pizza and the perfect setting

breathtaking sea views as far as the eye can see

gorgeous decor and plenty of pink inside
It’s not cheap sadly, but then again, for Cape Town standards, it’s not bad. Especially when you consider the experience and level of service you are getting.
