Well Spa Massage: Fabulous

well-spa-massage

On Saturday I went for an aromatherapy massage at Well Spa, in the interest of sticking to my stress free (or at least low stress) aims for 2010. I had gotten a Wellness Warehouse voucher for my birthday from the lovely Brazen, so couldn’t think of a better way to use it than putting it towards a massage!

After arriving at Well Spa, I was met by Candice and taken to the massage room. Soft candle light, divine oils on the burn and gentle music set the tone, and after undressing and getting under the towels I was already chilled out. A half hour massage with relaxing lavender oil plus geranium and rose oils followed, which put me into such a state of relaxed bliss it was totally killed my hangover from the night before. I opted to leave the oils to sink in rather than have then wiped off, and while my hair (which I had forgotten to tie up) was a bit of a mess, I smelled great the whole day.

Candice also recommended a fantastic stress relief oil from Dermatalogica (about R250 for a 100ml bottle) which is ideal for muscle and mind stress. The oil contains essential oils such as sandalwood, orange, ylang ylang, tea tree and many others and smells great. You can put it in the bath or mix it into your body lotion.

What you need to know about Well Spa…

Bookings are essential, prices very reasonable (see price list for massages) and customer service is excellent. They called to confirm my booking the day before, and called to follow up on my treatment the day after and Candice (who I went to at the Kloof branch) was super sweet and highly professional throughout.

All in all, a seriously awesome experience, and I am definitely going to aim to go at least once a month to keep the stress levels down and indulge in some much-needed self-pampering. :-)
